Scheuermanns Disease

Scheuermanns disease is a deformity in the thoracic or thoracolumbar spine in children.

Patients have an increased kyphosis in the thoracic or thoracolumbar spine with associated backache and localised changes in the vertebral bodies.

Treatment depends on the severity of the disease.

If Scheuermanns disease is suspected a referral to an orthopaedic specialist for an opinion is highly recommended.
